Community day returns to the Riverside Ground

The Riverside Ground threw open its gates for Shoothill United’s annual community day, welcoming hundreds of supporters for an afternoon of football, entertainment and behind-the-scenes access.

Fans of all ages were invited to meet the players, collect autographs and take part in a series of activities organised by the club. From skills clinics on the pitch to guided stadium tours, the event gave supporters the opportunity to experience the Riverside Ground from a completely different perspective. The first-team squad joined in throughout the afternoon, signing shirts, posing for photographs and spending time with young supporters. Players also helped lead coaching sessions, offering advice and encouragement as children took part in passing, shooting and dribbling challenges. There was strong demand for the stadium tours, which included access to the changing rooms, dugouts, media area and players’ tunnel. Supporters were also given the chance to walk pitchside and learn more about the work that goes on behind the scenes on a matchday. The club’s coaching staff and community team were on hand throughout the event, while local organisations and volunteers helped provide additional activities for families. Food stalls, competitions and merchandise stands added to the atmosphere as the Riverside Ground remained busy well into the afternoon. The manager praised the turnout and thanked supporters for continuing to back the club.
